The Delaware Telehealth Roundtable is intended to bring together a diverse group of healthcare stakeholders, to include providers, payers, employers, and consumers; to identify ways in which telehealth might be used to mitigate some of the challenges we currently face in our health care delivery system.
The end goal of the Roundtable will be the development of a three-year strategic action plan for facilitating the use of telehealth technologies to improve: 1) access to behavioral health services; 2) access to specialty care; and 3) the management of chronic disease.
The Delaware Telehealth Coalition recently adopted the following vision statement:
“Telehealth will be fully integrated into Delaware’s healthcare system so that all residents will have equitable access to affordable, world-class, patient-centered healthcare throughout the state.”
I fully embrace this vision and hope you will join me in sharing this vision as we move forward.
